Your First Visit

At your first dental visit, there are no needles and no drills.  Just a friendly conversation and a thorough examination, so that we can get to know you, your medical history and your dental needs.

You will have a chance to meet our friendly team of dental professionals,  get a tour of our office, and discuss your dental care with our Dentists.

By the end of your first appointment, you will have all the knowledge and information you  need to start making the best decisions regarding your dental health care.

What should I bring to the first appointment?

  • A list of all medications you are taking, and any allergies you may have.
  • A copy of any xrays (radiographs) and treatment plans you may have from the past.
  • Your insurance booklet or details if you would like us to have an idea of what you are covered for.
  • A list of questions or concerns that you would like to discuss with us.

What happens at the first appointment?

The Dentist and his team will go through the following steps with you:

  • A thorough review of your medical and dental status.
  • Your dental experiences, goals, needs and wants will all be discussed.
  • Examination of your teeth, gums and bone levels will be completed.
  • An oral cancer screening will be completed by the dentist
  • All findings will be charted and noted on our state-of-the-art computer system.
  • A series of low-dose digital xrays (radiographs) will be taken to help the Dentist  diagnose any problems.
  • A series of photos will be taken with an intraoral dental camera.
  • A diagnosis of any dental problems will be established.
  • Any relevant treatment options will be discussed.
  • Our team will answer all of your questions, explain the diagnosis and start the process of planning your treatment.

NO NEEDLES, NO DRILLS.  It's all about getting to know you and your dental needs.
Based on our findings, we'll book your next appointment accordingly.  Sometimes that means a cleaning, sometimes it means a filling, and in more complex cases, it may include a sit down session with the Dentist to have a more indepth discussion before starting treatment.  You can rest assured, no matter what we find, you'll be taken care of to the highest standards of the profession.

How long will the first appointment take?

The first appointment will last between 60-90 minutes for adults and 30 minutes for children.  The length of time required will depend on the complexity of your case and how many questions you have.

How much does the first appointment cost?

Our office follows the standard Ontario Dental Association fee guide, so we charge exactly what most other practices charge, and we make sure to give you the value you deserve for the fees. The thorough 60-90 minute examination, diagnosis, treatment plan and radiographs will cost approximately $260 for adults and approximately $160 in children.

Which Dentist will I see?

Our main goal is always your happiness and comfort.  If you have a specific dentist you would like to see, please inform our front desk team and they will do everything possible to accomodate your request.
